Elevator Pitch: A gaming toolbox inspired by reality TV, Police Procedurals, and Film where characters play Law Enforcement/Bounty Hunters/Repo-men, working the cold hard streets while being filmed, set in a fantasy world with multiple environs which parody your favorite fantasy properties.

A Dim View: Is this like Bright or Shadowrun? Yes, in that we mash Fantasy and Modern genres together. No, in that our game takes a humorous attitude, is set in a medieval tech-level world with plenty of anachronisms, and uses the framing device of film to allow GMs and Players to break the fourth wall for narrative effect. Parody Training Day and you’d get a humorous take on Bright; choose Johnny Mneumonic for plenty of Shadowrun flavor; but we also want to riff on COPS, Fargo, Law & Order, Rush Hour, CSI, Usual Suspects, Miami Vice, The Wire, Night Court and more.  

In a World… SWAT will bring you to fantasy worlds that aren’t as idyllic and pastoral as you remember. Our parody globe includes continents that each have their own unique mix of fantasy and police properties.

Down under you’ll find that a tongue-in-cheek take on “Middle Earth” that has been transformed in to an urban metropolis where you’ll battle crime on the mean streets of Tolkheim. The [Br]eaking [Ba]dra-dûr plot point campaign will have your SWAT team keeping order in the Gondorminiums, busting criminals in the Murdor Amusement Park, solving crimes in the swanky Lorien Lofts, and chasing down shirtless inebriated Gobbets in the Mire.

Shrek collides with Buddy Cop films in 4d8 HRS, a parody adventure set in San Francouver, on the west coast of a North American styled continent where human beings are a mythical creature known only in fiction.

If Dr. Seuss and Dr. Hannibal Lecter sat down for a fancy meal paired with a nice Chianti, they might just pen an adventure as surreal and tense as the hunt for the Son of Sam I am I am cereal killer in Silence of the Hams.

No fantasy world is safe from our lampooning, no police property off limits to our enjoyment. We plan on continuing this property to grow with the new SWADE edition of Savage Worlds. Will we see Hong Kong style wire-fu make fur fly when Kung Fu Panda meets Police Story released in conjuction with the new Martial Arts Companion? Will Dirty Harry bust Harry Potter when the new Fantasy Companion comes out? We hope so!
